| Maria’s house is situated just outside the picturesque hamlet of Tsangeraki, some 15km inland from Heraklion, and is thus ideally placed for those who wish to spend some time exploring Knossos and the attractions of central Crete, whiling away the rest of their time in the privacy and luxury of their own secluded villa. With its sloping ceilings, panoramic windows and location on the slopes of a steep hill, Maria’s House has some of the charm of an alpine chalet and offers all the comforts of a real family home. |
Accommodation: The house has a large split-level living room with a fully-fitted kitchen and dining area on the lower level and an extensive, comfortable sitting area with a fireplace and magnificent views over the hillside on the upper level. The first floor has a twin and a double bedroom and a large bathroom with full bath. There is also a shower room on the ground floor. Both the first floor balcony and the large, shaded terrace on the ground floor enjoy magnificent views over the rolling hills to distant Heraklion and the sea, and also overlook the attractive freeform swimming pool and gardens. To the side of the house is a barbecue area which also has a traditional bread-oven, and the two nearest tavernas are only a five-minute drive away. As it would be possible to stay at Maria’s House without once encountering another visitor to the island, the villa is best suited to those who relish complete and utter privacy |
