| Villa Agni is a 150-year-old Cretan house set in the heart of the beautiful Cretan countryside. It is located in a small village called Kastri, which took its name from a Venetian castle that used to be perched up in the mountains. On the way to Kastri you will wend your way through villages that still follow traditional village life and from this centrally located part of the island you can drive up to the mountain villages of Axos and Anogia. This area is well known for its local cheese due to the rich pasture for the herds of sheep and goat. The Monastery of Arkadi is also within easy driving distance. |
Accommodation: Beautifully renovated, this secluded house is arranged over several levels. Upon entering the house you will find a living room and one double bedroom with a shower room and a kitchen. The décor is pleasant and full of rustic charm and the well-equipped kitchen has a traditional stone oven. The double bedroom on the ground floor is furnished in bright colours and the room provides you with the most astonishing views of the valley and the gorge below. Exterior steps lead from the terrace area to the lower ground floor level. Here you will find a double bedroom, a shower room and two twin bedrooms, all with pleasant views opening out from authentic, brown, wooden shutters onto the villa’s colourful flower garden. This delightful garden is maintained with great care by the owners, ensuring that guests will delight in the displays of fragrant Mediterranean flowers. Just below the garden is the pool with great views out over the rolling countryside. |
