| Set high in the rolling countryside, and reached along a steepish stretch of unpaved road, Villa Irida is ideal for large families and groups, who enjoy the appeal of carefree summer living, away from the tourist crowds. One of the eight villas in this complex, we are delighted to add Villa Irida to our Cretan portfolio for 2004. Strolling through the covered, arched front door onto a large, sunny terrace and garden you will be greeted by the sounds of running water as adjacent to the inviting pool is a mesmerising waterfall, trickling down over decorative rock formations. You will be sure to spend many hours in this mellow location admiring the deep blue of the sky and the views from here down to the coast in the distance. The mini-market in the village of Panos Stalos, has a good stock of basic supplies but if you fancy a greater choice of shops and restaurants head to the pretty harbour town of Chania. The fine sandy beach that stretches westwards towards Maleme is also worth a visit. |
Accommodation: The ceramic tiled dining area with wooden table and chairs has a split level archway leading onto the lounge, both rooms are light and spacious and guests can relax here from the heat of the sun in the afternoon when not lounging around the pool. Both bedrooms - a twin and a double - on the first floor have a balcony with good sea views. On the ground floor there is another twin bedroom. The kitchenette is well-equipped and there is a stone built barbecue outside for al fresco meals. |
