| Set in open countryside, with an imposing backdrop of the Ha Gorge and the Thripti Mountains, the lovely Villa Leidoni stands out from its surroundings with its yellow walls providing a pretty contrast from the silvery green of the olive trees around it. On entering Villa Leidoni, you are struck by how at home you feel, and this is because it was originally built as the family home of Steffie and Manolis, an Irish and Greek couple, who designed and constructed the house for their family to live in. Now that the children are older and at school, we are very pleased to be able to offer the family’s lovely villa for Simply Travel guests during the summer months, and Steffie and Manolis have built a wonderful pool in the walled garden so that guests can cool off close to home, if the 2km drive to the nearest beach in Paxia Ammos seems a little too much effort. With so much at your villa, it might seem a shame to ever leave it, but with all of eastern Crete’s beaches and villages on your doorstep you are sure to make use of the hire car included in your holiday. |
Accommodation: This extremely spacious villa offers no less than 4 bedrooms, one single on the ground floor and 2 doubles and one single on the first floor. All the bedrooms have a terrace or balcony with either views of the sea or the mountains behind, and the master double bedroom has an en suite bathroom, from which you can also see the sea! From the kitchen a wide but unbannistered staircase leads up to the first floor (so care must be taken with younger children), where there is a pretty tiled bathroom with a corner bath and separate shower cubicle. The dining room is very lovely indeed with a heavy wooden table at one end with elegant chairs and a fireplace, plus a sofa and chairs which you can easily sink into. A door leads through to a spacious sitting room with more comfy sofas and another fireplace. |
