| A cluster of brand new villas each with their own pool, set in unspoilt countryside at the foot of Mount Psiloritis. Set in rolling, olive-tree studded countryside, close to the pretty traditional village of Pentamodi, Villas Christina promise to be some of the most stylish villas with private pools in Crete. Finished in 2002, the owner Thanassis and his wife Olga have gone to great lengths to make sure that guests staying at these lovely villas will want for nothing. In fact, Thanassis is our longest standing agent in Crete, and helped set up Simply Crete twenty five years ago, so who better to provide us with such splendid new villas with private pools. We have selected four of Thanassis’ eleven villas to provide a choice of two, three or four bedroomed villas, all set over two storeys and with at least one bathroom and one shower room. The interiors are light and airy, and have been furnished with comfortable, colour-coordinated furniture and fabrics. An extremely welcome bonus is that every room in each villa has air-conditioning. Outside, each villa has its own private garden and pool area, and there is even a bar and taverna on site for those who get peckish during the day and don’t want to stretch themselves too much by making lunch in the very well-equipped kitchens. For a further selection of restaurants, the village of Voutes is only 5km away. Conveniently located just 17km from the island’s capital Heraklion, yet a million miles away from its hustle and bustle, there is some excellent walking country almost on the doorstep of Villas Christina. The European Hiking Path passes close to the nearby village of Ano Asites and encompasses pretty Byzantine chapels, ravines, river valleys and holly forests - it is truly an area of outstanding natural beauty. |
