| The Belvedere Villas are set high on a small mountain with breathtaking views overlooking the ‘Prassanos Gorge’, close to the pretty village of Prasses, 8km south of the historical old town of Rethimnon. Prasses is a serene place for those hankering after pure pleasures, a relaxed welcome and complete lack of pretensions. These compact and tasteful properties consist of three individual villas; each one has been named after the owners’ - Dimitri and Froso - three daughters, Katerina, Vangelio and Argiro, encompassing the family’s genuine traditional hospitality. The views from the pool area are truly magnificent with vast open countryside vistas over this beautiful island, with the sea in the distance, the mountain ranges on both sides and rows of olive trees glinting silvery green in the sun. Sunloungers are scattered around the pool, allowing you to while away your day, it’s a great place to sit and relax in an atmosphere of total tranquillity. The partially shaded terrace offers the perfect escape from the sun and when the sun goes down, the lights from the houses lining the coastline and the winding country roads light up the night and contrast with the star studded sky. The gardens are impressive and well proportioned, with a maze of aromatic herbs, hedges and sprawling makia bushes, an abundance of geraniums and sweet smelling rose bushes. There is plenty of choice when the initial inertia of doing nothing all day wears off; a scenic drive to the colourful town of Rethimnon approximately 30 minutes away, a day out to the beautiful beach of Platanes with 2km stretch of sand just 35 minutes away or for guests who are keen walkers there are some spectacular walks in the nearby Amari Valley. These villas are the perfect hideaway for guests wanting to experience ‘true village life’. |
Accommodation: Each villa has been built approximately 10m apart and are a good choice for those who want a carefree away-from-it-all holiday. The décor and furnishings are modern and very comfortable, with a well-equipped kitchen and shower room. The open plan living-room and bedroom open out to the large, welcoming terrace area. All villas have a mezzanine gallery with a bed for an afternoon siesta - great to lay back into and relax Mediterranean style! |
