| Stunning views of the surrounding countryside and the sea in the distance set the scene for the relaxing Carob Tree Villa. Situated near the delightful village of Milatos, this comfortable villa has everything to offer for a restful holiday. After three or four days chilling out at the villa and lounging round the inviting pool (which the owner is building in time for the 2004 season), the urge to explore may get the better of you; close by is the historical cave of Milatos, famous in Crete as a natural underground cave with rare stalactites and the mountain-fringed Lassithi Plateau with its patchwork quilt of orchards dotted with windmills is within easy driving distance. Milatos is situated in northeastern Crete, with a fishing village on one side, and the traditional older part of the village closer to the villa. There are a few tavernas offering a wealth of tasty local dishes, all washed down with a chilled bottle of white wine. |
Accommodation: Returning to the villa, the peace and quiet will take over, the thick stone walls keep the interiors cool, ensuring some escape from the heat of the day, mixing wonderfully with the sturdy wooden beamed ceilings. The décor throughout is in keeping with a family house, with pretty embroidered tablecloths and solid antiques. A staircase leads up to the first floor to two double bedrooms with lovely views over the countryside down to the sea. From this floor you access a loft area with a TV and a double and a single mattress. |
